Delete your
CoaChess account.
You can delete your account yourself at any time, from the Android or iOS app or from the website. Here is how, and exactly what happens next.
Step by step
Delete from the app or the website
It works the same in the Android app, the iOS app and on the website (app.coachess.net).
- 1Sign in to CoaChessUse the account you want to delete.
- 2Open SettingsFrom the menu, or tap your name on your profile.
- 3Scroll down to Danger zone and tap Delete my accountIt is the last section of Settings.
- 4Read what will be deleted, type DELETE and confirmYou are signed out on every device right away.
Your data
What is deleted, and what is kept
Deleted
- Your personal data: name, email address, profile photo and account details
- Your progress, streak, diamonds, badges and puzzle rating
- Your academy memberships
Kept anonymously
Learning records, such as completed lessons and solved puzzles, are kept only in anonymous form. Nothing in them can be linked back to you.
7 days to change your mind
Cancel by signing in again
Your account is locked as soon as you ask, and deleted for good 7 days later. Until then, nothing is lost.
Changed your mind. Sign in again within the 7 days. The deletion is cancelled and everything is restored as it was. After 7 days, the deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
Academy owners
Transfer your academy first
If you own an academy on CoaChess, transfer its ownership to another member before you delete your account. Until you do, the app will not let the deletion go through.
Can't sign in?
Ask us by email
Email privacy@coachess.net from the email address of your CoaChess account and ask us to delete it. We will process your request.
Why that address. Writing from your account's own email address is how we know the request really comes from you.
